This has already been mentioned here.
An update to that: Rob had confirmed adding it in to the chat. It was done to see if he could at least gain some profit to pay for the server. It's supposed to mine on non-mobile devices. "Mainly as a test." Said to be on "the lowest possible load".
If it doesn't do that well then it may get removed.

I'm not against coinhive usage on websites entirely, but the website should ask me first (which plaza does not) and have it set up to have a small load (which again, as shown in the video, plaza does not).

As a response to what you had said, it's in the chats, ok, but now also in every single thread on the forums with no warning. Why? And set to the lowest possible load? Bull.

I get rob needs money to pay for the server space that plaza takes up and that the site isn't profitable, but rob saying that it's just there to make "a little extra" when it maxes out CPU usage and is now anywhere social on the site makes it seem like it's more of a "plaza is gonna be gone soon better make money while I can" thing.

I mean, if rob wants to respond with why it's not just in the chats and on the lowest possible load and instead maxing out CPU usage, please, do. It's hard to see any other reason why what is happening is happening.

I've only noticed 3DSPlaza loading pages slower, not sure if that's an effect.
