I've seen a couple people say that this place is dead, and that Node won't change that. While I do agree with that statement, nobody's explained why they believe it. If this place is ever going to come back, it won't be nearly to the extent of it's life in saaaay... 2013? This is for a few reasons the staff here don't seem to understand, the most obvious problem being the look. Nobody is going to go to 3DS Plaza and be knocked off their seat with the outdated, low resolution, cheesy header that doesn't even fit with the website. But that's the very least of your issues... It'll be far harder to fix the fact that there is ZERO market or advertising for this place since the 3DS itself is also pretty dead. I found Plaza through a website (that I don't remember the name of) filled with things that pushed the opera mini browser to it's limits. It had a featured websites section filled with websites meant to make using the DSi/3DS browser not feel completely pointless. But that's been shut down; most of them have, because just like Plaza, they were geared toward a demographic that no longer exists.

Even if you decide to change the demographic entirely, you still have the issue of the fact that this place is currently dead. New users won't see this as an alive and thriving website, because not only do we have a permanently-set-to-zero "new users" counter, but everyone, staff included, referres to Plaza as a "dead website". Doesn't exactly scream confidence.

Too Long; Did not Read! Shit design, wrong demographic, no advertising, site's already dead, but good luck anyway.

EDIT: Adding that this is not any sort of attack on Andre, or his skills, but a statement that anybody would go through hell trying to revive this place.

Anybody that has any faith in Carmilla's statement would care. The thread's directed at whoever thinks Node, or anybody for that matter, can revive this place. If you don't care, it's as simple as fucking off, as you would with any thread you don't have any interest in.

I don't see any reasons to revive this place. As it was just recently said, this place is pretty much just a nostalgia trip.

Recently Sims Online was revived by a third party. I played it with my older brother for a bit, but things were just very outdated, and the game wasn't very fun. I'd rather be playing Sims 3.

So why should anyone want to come here? What could this site be converted to?

At this point, the site is still up "'cause why not". The server isn't just used to host Plaza and H4D. Plaza is much larger than what end users may have anticipated.
To give it to you straight: it's a huge mess. Not that well organised so much harder than it should be to work with. Multiple versions of 3DSPlaza to maintain which on the most part won't share the same files.
To be fair, 3DSPlaza's code is based off of Home4DSi's and this was around 7 years ago. If Plaza was being developed as something new today, that'll most likely be completely different and much more easier to work with.
The changes I have made are mainly to protect user data, to improve the chat experience, and to aid moderation.

Not intending to come across as unappreciative, but having someone else to help improve 3DSPlaza a few years earlier would've really helped the activity. It's kind of too late now. Obviously 3DSPlaza was going to lose a large amount of activity eventually regardless but it would've lasted longer at the very least.
The reoccurring theme I noticed is that if a chat site project ends up having little to no activity and Rob or Olivier does not have the time to deal with it, they would assign a new owner (when they find a good choice) and have them maintain it instead. Maybe I'm not allowing this to happen three times in the row before drawing this as not a coincidence but.. this geniunely does look to be the case.

3DSPlaza does utilise advertisements from 'Project Wonderful'. However, that isn't rolling in sufficient profit.
A few days ago, I discovered that 3DSPlaza's chat uses Coinhive as a way to gain revenue. If you aren't aware, Coinhive is a JavaScript Monero miner. It is likely that Rob added this in not too long ago (still waiting for his response at the time of posting in regards to this).
If this was added in by him then I'd at least expect a warning about it being in use due to the amount of data, resources, and ultimately battery life it can use up. Otherwise, it can be seen as malicious. Sites have been compromised to include it so that bad actors can gain profit themselves from visitors. Personally, I'm not affected by this to some extent as I use uBlock Origin on my PCs but I can't say the same for when it comes to mobile platforms that do not have an ad blocker in place.

As for Carmilla's statement (assuming it was optimistic), I had a chat on Discord with them a few weeks ago. Let's say that they had a change of thoughts ever since.
