Dependo on how corrupt game journalists still are. Keep in mind that gamergate started when Zoe quinn's Boyfriend made a long post about how abusive/manipulative she was. And someone saw an offhand comment in that blog about how Zoe quinn was giving journalists "special favours" for positive reviews for her game "Depression quest." (some details may be wrong. It's been a long fricken time since i last saw anything about gamergate.)

I would say Gamergate is still ongoing, it's just morphed into something bigger. Basically, "ethics in game journalism" isn't as big as ethics in the media in general. Because of the election, basically everyone knows the media is full of crap. So called reliable outlets had Trump at a 1 percent chance of winning. That's really, really bad. They completely failed to even put forth the bare minimum of an attempt at unbiased coverage.
