I want to be able to receive pm's when someone comments on a thread that I made or that i'm involved in. That would be really helpful.

You mean, notifications, basically? There's a hundred suggestions of this already. And do you realise how many PMs you'd get? Say you posted once on The Brony Thread, your inbox would be in a wreckage of notifications just over night, and I think it would be a rather irritating addition, but it's just me. I think it'd just be easier to go back to that thread and read the comments.
