in' river. It wasn't Sakurai who chose Bayonetta. It was the fans of Super Smash Bros who wanted her in, and they expressed it through the Smash Ballot.

Perfect_Chaos- Of course I watched the Direct. Bayonetta was #1 most requested in Europe, and was among the Top 5 in the US. Also, compared to characters like King K Rool, Banjo Kazooie, Shovel Knight, and Shantae, Bayonetta probably had way more votes in Japan than the Western-based or inspired characters I listed.

I don't see the point you are trying to make about the results from a poll, which takes data from all across the world.

Corrin is basically in the game as a promo for Fire Emblem Fates. I have no problem with Sakurai making that decision because he basically did that with the level based off of Yoshi's Woolly World and he made the damn game, but I do think we're getting quite a lot of FE reps now.

The announcement surprised me since I saw Corrin being the replacement of Robin for Smash 5. Other characters like the Inklings, Elma (Xenoblade Chronicles X), Wonder Red (Wonderful 101), and maybe a monster from Yo Kai Watch would be possible newcomers in Smash 5 for recent titles on Nintendo's systems. I expected the same would go for Corrin.

tbh There are way too many Fire Emblem characters in SSB4. There are six total, which is more than Zelda has! IMO a lot of people not in the US don't give two

s about Fire Emblem at all!
