Nin10dude789 (2015-03-11 07:13:23)I'm a Christian myself. What they're doing is completely wrong. Besides, I dislike those "Christians" that think they're "perfect", so they insult those who do not believe in Him. What most Christians fail to realize that we don't have the right to judge other people. Only God can judge.
So in other words, it's none of our business if other people don't believe in Him, or follow a different religion. We can convince people, but if they reject, then we can't do anything about it. But I guess those so called "Christians" aren't going to understand.

Nutsy (2015-03-12 21:55:44)About your substitute, it's illegal to preach in school. You can have one on one conversations, but you can't preach out loud.

You probably won't have these problems when you are in highschool. If you already are in highschool, you can talk to the counselor and ask him/her not to get your parents involved.
Naira (2015-03-13 10:54:18)Nearly every website which include discussion and debates are banned at school. I get the same page pop up every time. UAE has banned a lot of religious websites and I get really frustrated when its like that.
Afraid I can't help you avoid those religious people coz that is their life and that is what they are going to do all their life. I'm religious and I do agree with you. They shouldn't be pestering you, but I do encourage you to look at other religions.

I don't know why I didn't suggest anonymous letter thing. Meia, just do that and don't do a bomb threat. You can end up in prison for 15 years.
little5 (2015-03-19 21:29:18)There's a way for us to contact the principals incognito through our school website. Should I contact them through that or should I type it up?
Type or write it up, go to the front office and ask to give an anonymous message to the principal.

I'm pretty sure this is illegal.
My (public) school blocks any website dedicated to beliefs contrary to the mainstream ones. Websites specifically on Christianity, Judaism, Islam, etc. aren't blocked.
If I try to go to a website on paganism or atheism (haven't tried others do to the lack of time), it is blocked.
Considering it's a public school, the computers belong to the people, right? The first amendment gives us freedom to religion, so they can't block websites specifically for those religions (or lack thereof) unless they contain inappropriate material.
You may be wondering, "Why am I telling you guys this?" and "Why were you searching these things on school computers?"
For the first question: I need someone to rant to.
The second question: Because our computer lab teacher never showed up, and we've had the same substitute since the beginning of the school year. Being a 60-70 year old sub and all, she doesn't know anything about computers, nor does she really have grade-appropriate work. She literally gives us 2nd/3rd grade math most of the time, which everyone finishes in less than 10 minutes. It's our final block, and a 90 minute class. For the rest of the period, we get on computers.
Wanna know what else is wrong with the substitute? She preaches to us like this is Sunday School at church. Multiple times has she shoved religion down our throats and gone on long 10-45 minute rants/speeches/whatever she calls them about how those of us who don't go to church, believe in God, or sin are going to hell. She even proclaims that she's afraid of us non-believers. Constantly has she recited bible verses and sang psalms during class, even asking the students to join along.
Being in the Bible Belt, and one out of two of the atheists/agnostics in this grade, there's not much I can do about it. Especially since my parents, who are hardcore christians (my mom is more accepting, but still), would disagree on high levels with me (they don't even know I'm an atheist, and I'd rather bear with this than having the possibility of being disowned). Not to mention, the substitute teacher is an in-law. If I were to even show any disapproval of her sacred preachings, she'd call my dad in an instant. She's threatened to before due to other reasons.
My friends are all great people. Every one of them is Christian, but they don't care about me being non-theistic. Not one bit. They wondered why I never joined in religious conversations, so they asked why. I told them. The only question that they've asked me besides that is "How'd you come to decision?" Which I answered, truthfully, with a
"I honestly never really believed in it anyway. Ever. Something about a man in the sky directing our lives and solving our problems doesn't make sense to me. Especially since it never appears to work, for me, at least."
That was last year when I told them I was an atheist (which, shouldn't even matter, but you always have that one snoopy conservative redneck). Shortly after that (like, 2 minutes), some
Then some new kid (one of those "depressed", "emo" kids obsessed with Pewdiepie and heavy metal who ironically thanks God for his, sarcastically said, amazing life), who knew well that I didn't believe in a supreme being decided it'd be fun to shove religion down my throat. This dolt tried to "water down" the concept of God and putting it into a language that "we" could understand much more easily (he even tried to use Star Wars as an analogy. Wat). I pretty much contradicted everything he said, and I stopped him when he got to the Star Wars part.
Anyways, the harassment began again. It's pretty annoying if you ask me (especially if you're trying to do your work, ugh). The bullies get nothing but a slap on the wrist by the teachers, and that's the end of
I'm not looking for sympathy or anything. This is more of a "wat do" kind of thing.
