Poetry by me and others.

Anything I add that's not mine will be rightly credited.

Criticism is always welcome, but please, don't go overboard in your absolute hate of me.

From the recesses of the darkest pits,
And the coldest touch that man was felt,
writhing and trashing in abundant fits,
this is the monster inside us all.

As it claws it's way out of our still beating hearts,
And we throw a hand to our chest,
It's teeth stained black; a work of art,
this is the monster inside us all.

As I lay there,

A bee buzzed by, with wings quick and small.
It had no care in the world at all.
And yet it always had somewhere to be,
That small and insignificant, little bee.

As I lay there,

A bird overhead tweeted notes so pure,
that I had to look twice, just to make sure,
that my ears weren't tricking me, and my eyes didn't lie,
for that sweet little bird, couldn't be alive.

As I lay there,

I began to ponder life, for I had no reason to live.
Unlike the birds and bees, because, well, they did.
They were nature at its finest, and I was a mistake.
And so, just one more drink, I think that I will take.

As I lay there,

My vision blurred, and I said goodbye.
I took the pills, and swallowed the drink.
Now it was too late for me,
to go back and think.

As I lay there,

I died.

Outsider (2014-09-29 17:28:38)
Inside the human,
we hide ourselves,
outside, to the world,
we project ourselves,
with lies and coverups and cloaks and shields,
we never really know,
what's inside the human,
do we?

Its cold outside,
the snow has settled,
but inside your eyes,
I can see your still troubled,

you look at me,
you smile and you say,
"We were meant to be,
but maybe...another day..."

you leave with him,
as the night gets longer.
the dark is grim,
and I sit and ponder,

all the wonderful times we'd had,
could we never get those back?
Was it me, when I was mad?
I would take it back,

Now, if only,
you were...
in my arms...
