Welcome all to 3dsPlaza. You have entered a wonderful land of sugar and rainbows. But these sugars and rainbows can turn into large ferocious dinosaurs if you prevoke them. Here is a (yet another) guide to being the best Plazian you can be.

1. Rules and regulations



This website can be a lot of fun, but also something that will make you cry in a corner for seven years.

Why you ask? Come sit in grandpas lap, sonny.


It is very obvious that breaking the rules of this website is bad. Very bad. Here is how it works.

You get three trys.(Although most moderators wait until the third warn, they are allowdd to ban you even after one.) Three tries to stop cursing, advertising, spamming, whatever it may be. After the third time, a temporary ban will be forcefully apprehending your speech for your ban sentence. Usually these are about 3-4 days. But not always. The rules are conveniantly posted in the chatroom selection page, for your viewing pleasure.

Using an alt to avoid being banned will further your ban.



2. Your profile and you

Your profile is your own personal playground of self-expression. You can put couples making out, a sheep, or your mother. We don't care! So long as you obey the rules, you're free to do anything you want.

If you would like to get started, there are multiple resources in the profile styling sub-forum. I recommend Ilia's complete profile styling guide.

Alternatively, you can ask a profile moderator (We will learn about these in chapter five.) to style your profile.

DO NOT GIVE YOUR PASSWORD TO ANOTHER USER.

If you get tricked into getting your account 'hacked' then don't cry to the mods. Because they warned you.






3. Chatting and such



3dsPlaza has a wonderful selection of chatrooms to choose from. Most of which are comepletely abandoned.

There are the special chatrooms.

Roleplayers: For roleplaying. Don't do anything but roleplay.

Gaming: Talk about games. Nothing else. At all. Ever.


Bleeding edge:
This is a particularly special room. If you say something that has been said before, you are muted for thirty seconds. Then the mute time increases with each thing you say that has been said before. Jolly good fun.


4. The Moderation


There are several different types of moderation. But for now, let's talk about the sectional mods.

There are three types of major sectional mods.

1. The forum mod.

A forum mod is the guys you see with the pencils next to their name. This means they are Forum mods.

2. Profile mods.

Profile mods have A crown and title in their signature. These are the guys who can style your profile without your password. They are usually pretty good at it too.


3. Chat mods.

These guys have crowns next to their usernames. They make sure nobody breaks the rules in chat.


Moderation icons (Crowns, pencils, etc.) can only be seen in the section they are part of.


For example, If Leviathan is a chat mod, and not a forum mod, then you will not see a crown next to his name in the forums.

Other moderation includes

Admins
Draw mods
etc.


5. "I want to be a mod!"


Well I got news for you, buddy. So do I. And so does Infliction9. And so does 99.9% of this website. But sadly, 99.9% of this website is crying in a moderationless corner.

Here are some tips for bettering your chances of becoming a mod:


Obey the rules.(Duh)
Report rule breakers.
Be active.
Be friendly and mature. No fights.
Use some spellcheck. Damn, son.


Here are some problems that people think are right, but are dead wrong:


Kissing up:

DO NOT kiss up. In my moderation experience (On other communities) I have found nothing more annoying than somebody saying "Good job! You rock! You're a good mod!" after I ban somebody. Well, except minimodding.

Minimodding:

Do the community a favor, and leave it to the mods. Reporting is one thing. Policing other users, and using reporting as a gun, is a comepletely different thing. Please, just don't.

Asking for mod:
This is a no no. The staff doesent want to be bothered constantly with mud epps. It's annoying. (Despite this rule, you'd be suprised how many people do it anyway.)


Hinting:

Bellamy: Hola, Levi.

Leviathan: Man, I sure wish I was a mod. I could help this site so much.


Bellamy: GTFO.



Don't hint around at your orgasmic desire to run this website. It ends badly for all involved.



7. Dealing with your bully


Ignore the bully and move on. If the problem persists, contact a moderator. Don't post a stop cyberbullying thread. We don't care.



8. Survival of the smartyest



This website values Intelligence, maturity, and GRAMMAR. So do your best to keep that in mind when joining this community.

Nobody likes the "Mud me im awsum mud" threads. So don't post or encourage them.




9. Other plazians genetalia


PM's are your business. But I would like to stress that public announcement of you having, giving, or receiving nudes is forbidden. Along with all cybersex. Not to mention the fact that both are extremely illegal to own if you are under eighteen.

Not even in whispers. There are websites for this. Please don't come here looking for water.



10. Generally frowned upon


A short list of a few things that are generally frowned upon in the upper class of 3dsPlaza.


Atrocious grammar.
Insults.
Mod begging.
Breaking the rules.(duh)
Grammar Nazhis.
Nude trading.
Public relationships.
Crude humor.
Forging screenshots.
Lying.
etc.


Just to name a few.


10. A thread is not a string

I've saved the best for last.

Forums are a great way to have a conversation without the necessity for a immediate response. You can have week long conversations if need be.


Some tips for the forum section

Don't post a string. A string is a thread with no purpose. Essentialy being a string of useless words.

The 'EDIT' button is a useful tool. But with great power, comes great confusion. When correcting a misspelling, just correct it. If you are adding something, it's best to use the "EDIT:" tag.

E.G. I have a post saying:


I have a comment.


and I want to add: "And a thread"

The post should look like this:

"I have a comment.


EDIT: and a thread."

Thats common forum etiquette.

Also, if you say something, and somebody else corrects you, correct yourself using the strikethrough tags.

[ s]Text here[ /s] = Text here.

So if you had a post saying
"I aids you." and somebody says "Aids? What?" then you shuld correct it to "I aidshate you." so that whoever reads your comments will know what he meant by "Aids? What?"

Thats not common, and not mandatory, but it's useful nonetheless.

Double posting:

When posting, don't reply twice in a row. Use the EDIT tag we talked about earlier.


Don't bump.

Bumping is when you post a comment, simply to get it to the top of the forum. It makes it to where other, more interesting, or now more relevent threads get drowned. And it is extremely annoying.

For one, This expands on more topics. For two, I am requesting sticky on every thread I make. Jason says stickys are the only reason I make threads. So i'm doing it to jack with him.

The thread has to many black spaces. You could've at least bunched up the paragraphs a little. Maybe stick the title of the section right above the paragraph instead of having two spaces.

Again, I'd just like to stress that users shouldn't expect three warnings before a ban...Though most moderators are lenient and give three, only one warning is actually required. There has never been an official edict saying that 3 are required, so I'm not sure where even moderators get that idea.
Anyway, I just wanted to clear that up again because I often see complaints from users saying they were banned unfairly just because they got less than 3 warnings...("<3 warnings" )

Anyway, nice thread. Well done.
