YOU ARE LOOKING AT IT WRONG LIKE THE REST OF THE WORLD DAMMIT. Pachirisu was tanking all of those because of multiple reasons.
1: Only time in Worlds when it got hit by STAB it was 1 by a Garchomp EQ 2 Salamence Draco meteor.
Garchomp EQ is STAB but a popular idea amongst them is running mixed sets. Which means they split EVs between both Attack/Sp.Attack which makes the stats a balanced but lower than what they COULD be. So for that Salamence it was probably Mixed. And its Sp.Attack is 110 with a 350 max. This is more likely to be around 290 at level 100 then subtract 50 perfect of 290 to get 145 from level reduction. Just because its STAB and the move has base power doesn't mean it will hit hard.
2: Earthquake (EQ) power is weaker when in doubles. It only hits with around 75% of its actual power because it is hitting multiple opponents at once. In a 1v1 format Pachirisu at max bulk for EQ is a OHKO each time.
3: NOBODY WENT FOR IT. Everybody let up their guard and were only going for the other pokemon which Pachirisu's Follow Me attack would move on to it preventing damage to the Pachirisu's partner. They were doing stupid moves like Leaf Storm and Ice Punch on Pachirisu.

I think every pokemon has their strengths and weaknesses. You can win many battles if you know how to use them right.

It gets boring when people are always using the same pokemon.
