I wouldn't give 255 to the username and I would make it text rather than varchar for reasons.

BTW, I would personally use the latin_general_cs collation, which you did miss out in the guide. This is very important when it comes to security.

255 to the username? No. Ive set mine to 20. And password can be whatever length. But I set mine to like, 30, just to save space.
