...I have seen various people lately complaining about people begging to be newsposters.

Well, this may be obvious, but I'm not begging to be one. I'm working to become one. I am making reviews for people to see in order to get facts about various games, and I'm hoping that these reviews will help boost my chances. However, I work hard on these reviews, so don't think I'm just spamming useless reviews.


Some facts for you:

First Review: Pilotwings Resort
Status: Topic Locked.

Second Review: The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition
Status: Topic Locked


These reviews were part of my topic encouraging people that weren't newsposters to make their own reviews. However, that is exactly what Rob didn't want people to do, so Me locked the topic.


Third Review: NES Open Tournament Golf
Status: Dead. I suppose I should've expected that when I posted it in Miscellaneous...


This one was my first professional-looking review. It contained sections such as Gameplay, Graphics, etc., and even contained screenshots. I had made an error in this review-I had disregarded the instructions, so I did not know how to properly swing the club. Therefore, I went back and tried the game again, and adjusted my review accordingly. However, I had to continually bump the topic in order to keep the topic from drowning, and I eventually gave up on it.


Fourth Review: Sonic Generations
Status: Dead.


I had my confidence boosted by the reception of the previous review, so I created a new review, this time in 3DS General about Sonic Generations. After even more positive reception, I messaged Rob the link to the review. He replied back and talked about newsposter status, but that was swallowed up by constructive criticisms and suggestions. Once again, I grew tired of bumping the topic, and it was soon completely drowned.


Fifth Review: Mighty Switch Force
Status: In Progress


Yes, I'm currently in the process of making a new review. Once again, I'm going to PM Rob a link. The predicted date of creation is currently unknown, however, it will be coming soon.




I just made this topic to let you know that I'm working hard to become a newsposter, not just crying and begging about it in Rob's profile comments.

You should be a newsposter.
But yeah, I feel your frustration. It took me months of reviews to become one. Just don't give up, and eventually Rob will see that you will make a good newsposter.
Another Suggestion: Why don't you make some reviews in the DSi forum? I made a BTD review and it lasted ages before being drowned. So imagine how long say, a Pokemon White/Black review would last.

I would like to make reviews for some games (in this case, Pokemon Black/White), but I wouldn't know where to start. As much as professional game reviewers can bang out a review almost instantly, there are certain games that just stump me. I either can't find very bad/very good things about it, or I can't think of a good enough grade for it. That's why I didn't make a review for a long time after the first two: I had no idea where to start for most of the games I wanted to review...

Maybe I can make a few good mini-reviews of DSiWare games, and compile them into one forum topic. I'll think about it.
