"A new forum right under miscellaneous called "trashcan" or whatever would fit.

In this forum there are no rules against swearing, religion, arguments, ect.

Most people will say "no dude that forum will be hell." But it really won't affect them. If this forum is made then all the interesting threads can be kept in one place where the moderators can not interfere.

Also, the forum may have any kind of topic. It doesn't matter if it relates to gaming or is a creepypasta. Anything and everything can be posted there without any rule worshiping guy coming along and saying "wrong forum".

Even if a thread in the trashcan forum is RACIST it can not be closed there.

The only thing unallowed is spam. Multiple spam topics will be deleted there."

This was stated by me in a forum topic in miscellaneous about how the forums were "dead".

The thing is, there are mainly two types of common people on this particular website. The one who believes without enough moderators and rule enforcement, "the website will become a hell hole."

The second one are the group that believe that there should be less rule enforcement and more tolerance toward... Well everything, thus making the website more fun.

This issue usually starts serious debates that usually go unfinished. Why? Because there seems to be a 0% tolerance policy for anything that could even SLIGHTLY turn into a tiny tiny argument, and will automatically get the topic closed by a mod, without anyone getting to have their opinion on what should be done.

The thread gets closed with a comment from the forum mod, him getting the final say, but are we really agreeing with his reasoning?

My point is, there is a way we can solve both problems. It doesn't have to be a constant war between both beliefs. With the trashcan forum, we can have all our debates. We can "troll" people. We don't have to stay on topic. We don't have to worry about posting "in the wrong forum". The trashcan is always the right forum.

Now, for the people who want anything immature or unneccesary completely out of the website all together, our current state OR this idea will be the closest we can get.

Currently, there will always be rule breaking people spread out across each of the forum boards, occasionally not being deleted right away.

With the trashcan, it will keep everything in one place where it IS allowed. Does this idea really not seem necessary?

Is there really any reason not to let others that feel bored have their fun?

This website can be the way it used to again. At least the forums can. Even I crave the drama, debates, offensive threads and crazy people we all used to know and love. It kept it interesting, although most people wouldn't agree.

I know not many ideas have actually been considered AND completed, but this is one of those times and a thing that almost all of us feel they need in this website.

I believe it's completely neccesary.

Lani (2014-01-30 19:47:51)
If anything, just make a debate forum if you want drama. Hate threads, ecchi/porn threads, sexual creepypastas, etc should all be forbidden. Why? Because there are children here.

You might say "But Lani, all kids are subjected to this stuff anyway." Not true. There are those of religions and schooled at home who are not and should not be exposed to mature and/or scarring things. All religions and peoples should be considered. And don't say "If you don't like it, don't click on the forum" I wont, but curious, innocent kids (yes, they exist) will. Plaza isn't the type of place for such things.

Plaza's features are great as they are.
DrakeJericho (2014-01-30 21:07:23)
^ Agreed on the porn part.

Still, I'm kinda neutral on this suggestion. This will obviously make the other forums useless when everyone else is using the Trashcan. Let alone, we'll start getting suggestions like "Trashcan Chatroom", and we don't want that.

If you ask me, this site needs to stop trying to make this site only known for chats, forums, and PMs, and start focusing on real subjects related to the 3DS.

SackThing101 (2014-01-30 21:34:07)
There's many errors with this. I'll list a few.

1. Like Lani said, there's children on this site. The average age on Plaza is about 11. If you were 11, would you want to click a thread saying "free points", but instead you see 100 GIFs of Zero Suit Samus dancing naked? (don't even say yes. I highly doubt you're 11)

2. P0rn sites. If you were 11, would you want to click a thread saying "Free DSiPoints!!! click here!" and there's a link that leads you to a p0rn site? No.

3. 3dspwnzer.web. I think that's the URL... But don't try it if you're on 3DS. Say you're 11 and you got a brand new Japanese 3DS XL! Ah, wonderful isn't it? And your favorite feature is the Web browser. You just want to marry it don't you? You want to go to the trash can forum with it and click the topic "click here to improve your 3DS browser!" and you clicked tge link inside. You are all hyped because it's faster... and then... BOOM. Your browser doesn't work anymore! You wouldn't want that, now would you?
AgurettiLeaf (2014-01-30 22:17:34)
Re-opened. The reason is that, it can have rules so it doesn't happen. No spam and no p0rn.
AntiChrist (2014-01-30 23:00:26)
@Mega

Your comments are pretty helpful. It's like having a second me respond to the opposing comments for me.

Also, the reasoning "there are children here" is what dragged this site down in the first place. This shouldn't turn into another star fall or nickjr.com.

It should be as fun as it used to be. It's not like it's our fault if children decide to go into the trashcan forum.
AntiChrist (2014-01-30 23:02:24)
Think of it this way, the trashcan keeps everything "bad" in one place. Those who CHOOSE to go in that specific forum, children or not are using their own will. Not anyone else's. if you really are concerned for the children, why not ban them all from this website in the first place?

Lani (2014-01-30 23:55:24)
There shouldn't be a trashcan forum for kids to lose their innocence, in the first place. There are so few active, 3DS-compatible, child-friendly websites. Why make this great site for mature people when it can easily be for ALL ages? Why give parents more of a reason to block this site, by adding a free-access no-rule forum?

Let's say porn/ecchi never happens....There's still swearing, sexual refferences & sexual stories/creepypasta, and I can already imagine the user trash-talk threads (Which, already happen frequently)...Who wants to log-in and see a thread hating on you? Mature people might not care, but kids can't deal with it.

Also, Drake raised a good point...The other "dead forums" will become even more deceased because everyone will be using the trashcan.

Okay....So no porn/sexual things, or spam...that leaves swearing, trash talk, and useless threads. Sounds like fun.

Instead of a "free-for-all" forum, which would be utter chaos (and not to mention: immoral, though that likely doesn't matter to most people) how about the suggestion of a debate forum? People can argu--*cough* debate about religion, politics, mythical beasts, etc...Who doesn't enjoy speaking their opinions on subjects?

If swearing and trash-talk is all you need/want to have fun, I really don't think Plaza is the place to do that...However if you can find some enjoyment in civil debating, I think that would be a satisfactory for the mature folks of Plaza who enjoy those things. Then we can all be happy, yes?

Most debate threads get closed with: "Getting out of hand. Too much insulting." Nope. In the debate forums, the insulters can be specifically punished, but the thread remains opened. (Insulting/name-calling isn't even necessary to make things "interesting" )

I locked this thread? o-o When?
AntiChrist (2014-01-31 16:26:15)
This was never really a family friendly website in the first place.

Also, I think people are too focused on making this website fun for the children. This website isn't made specifically for them. Also, even if they knew the consiquences of going in the trashcan, but still did it anyway, would it really effect them that negatively?

Think about the ones who DON'T go in. They are completely safe from everything.

One more thing. It isn't necessary to have a debate/argument forum because its not like arguments all get started on purpose. We need a forum board that is less rule enforced IN GENERAL.

No more "wrong forum. I will now move this to where only three people will see it." Or "someone had a small disagreement five comments ago. Better close JUST INCASE of an argument.".

We should at least try.

The forums are becomming too frustrating
AntiChrist (2014-01-31 16:29:14)
Also, we don't want a trashcan just for the purpose if being evil and immature. We adolescents or younger teenagers need some amusement too. This isn't 3dsKids .com. Not is it some Disney website that you need to ask you parents permission

( notice the "ask parents permission "

to go on.

Nobody on THIS website have ever asked their parents permission. They already had Internet connection and are open to the real world now.

It's not like this website is what turns them all into swearing rapists.
AntiChrist (2014-01-31 16:32:37)
One more thing:

When you said "people will use other forums less if the trashcan is made."

It seems like you are just looking for more and more reasons as to why the trashcan shouldn't be created. It's obvious why some things you mentioned wouldn't really be a "problem" at all, yet you mention them anyway.

What I'm saying is, please don't act like you are afraid of the trashcan and at least let us that approve of the idea have a chance to TRY.

If the trashcan is made, then we can see if it really does cause problems.

Doesn't that seem at least fair? We are only asking for one forum that will make the website more amusing for us.
SPCOxion (2014-01-31 20:01:31)
The first three lines in, I disagree.

"the moderators cannot interfere"

This opens up oppritunities for a hell of a lot of things. Spam for 3DSPoints, inappropriate topic discussions, etc.

I'll keep on reading, though.
[hr]
Mmkay. A pseudo-rule-free board, where mods can't do jack unless it's spam.
No.

Mega said it's fun to have arguments, but from what I remember from being on the Internet in general, most of the people who lose arguments will just deny that they lost and resort to attacking their opponent straight-on.

My point is, mods can't be only allowed to stop spam. They need to stop other things, or at least, try to sort them out. An argument turns into a catfight? Someone needs to be able to break it up. You can't depend on people to just forgive the other in an instant.

Aside from that, go for it. You can smooth out the problems as it goes along.

AntiChrist (2014-01-31 20:47:12)
^ it won't really cause real harm to anyone as long as it stays in the trashcan.

Someone has to be there to break it up? Nonsense. If its in the trashcan it won't matter.

People have opportunity to make hell break lose? Is it really a problem if its inside a forum made for that specific purpose?

It's not like the whole idea is awful if it causes one persons feelings to get hurt by someone in that forum board.

Mods don't even need to go in that forum unless there's the occasional spam that rarely ever happens. The forums point is aimed at amusement, so why bother worrying about how extreme it gets?
