Hello, and I've put together a A Animal Crossing New Leaf Guide. I'm hoping this will help the people who need help in ACNL. Sorry for any mistakes in the guide. Enjoy (Note: this guide just has the basics)

The Start Screen...

If you haven't created a town yet, you have two options in the start screen: 'New Save File' and 'Move In'. If you choose 'New Save File', you will start the game on a train with Rover. 'Move In' lets you move a character in from a different town.

If you have already created a town, you can choose 'New Resident' to move a new character into town.

Talk to Rover...

First, Rover will ask if the time and date are correct. Then he asks your name. Next, he compliments your name, and you have a few options. You can choose "Oops, I misspoke!" if you want to change your name. The other options determine your character's gender:

Cool or Cute...
If you say you think the name is 'cool', Rover will say that it's a masculine name. If you want a girl character, you have to choose 'I'm not a boy!'. Similarly, if you choose 'cute', Rover will say it's a feminine name. If you want a boy character, you have to choose 'I'm not a girl!'

Naming and Seeing Your Town...
Rover will ask where you are headed. Your answer will become the name of your town. If you make a mistake, you can choose 'No, no!' after you enter the name.

When you approve of the name, then Rover will show you a map and ask if that is your town. If you say 'Here!', that map becomes the layout of your town, so if you don't like it, say 'Nope!' to make Rover show a different map. He will only show you four maps, so you have to pick one of them. After he shows you the fourth map, he will start over by showing you the first map again.

The beach can either go along the left side or the right side of town. There is always a river going through your town and at least two ponds. The map will also show the locations of the Town Hall, the event square, Re-Tail, and the villager houses.

Your Face...
Rover's next questions determine what your eye shape will be.

Arriving in your Town...

After the train drops you off in the station, if you are the first person to move into the town, you will go outside and find Isabelle and some villagers, who greet you. Isabelle asks some questions that you can answer however you wish. You become the mayor. Isabelle gives you the Town Map and asks you to go to the Town Hall, which will be flashing on the map.

If you are NOT the first person to move into the town, you can't become the mayor; you will just be a resident. In this case, when you arrive in the train station, Porter gives you the Town Map and tells you to go to the Town Hall, which will be flashing on the map.

After you arrive in the Town Hall, talk to Isabelle. She asks you to go north to Main Street and go to Nook's Homes.

Choose Where to Build Your House...

You find Tom Nook in Nook's Homes. Talk to him and he will ask if you are ready to choose a place for your house. If you say yes, Tom Nook will follow you around the village. You can walk to any spot, then talk to Tom Nook to see a preview of what your house would look like there. Note: if you choose a place near the ocean, you will be able to hear the waves when you are inside your house.

After choosing a spot for your house, you should go back to the Town Hall and talk to Isabelle.

Check in with Isabelle...

Talk to Isabelle in the Town Hall and she will ask if everything is OK. Answer however you wish. Then she will ask you to tell her your birthday. Finally, she will give you your Town Pass Card, or TPC for short.

Plant the Town Tree...

After this, if you are the mayor, you and Isabelle will go to the Town Square for the tree planting ceremony. Some of the villagers will be there. You will plant a tree sapling in the middle of the Town Square. You have to press A to plant the sapling!

Save the Game...

The game will automatically save now. If you want to save after this, you can do so at any time by pressing START or SELECT.

The Mayor Chair...

The mayor chair is behind Isabelle's desk in the town hall, but you won't be able to access it until the day after you become mayor. You might need to wait until 6AM before the mayor chair becomes accessible.

Upgrading from the Tent...

Your first residence is a tent. Go inside to get a free lantern from Isabelle. You can upgrade to a house by paying 10,000 bells to Tom Nook. He will ask you to choose a roof color for your house. You have to wait until 6AM for your new house to appear.

After this, the Happy Room Academy will open up in the Nook's Homes shop. The first time you go into your new house, Isabelle will bring you some Pawprint Wallpaper and will add a light switch to your touch screen.

After your house is built, talk to Tom Nook about paying off your house loan. Once you pay off the first house loan (not the tent loan, but the one after that), you can unlock the island by talking to Tortimer on the dock on your beach.

Get Tools and Items from Isabelle...

You can get items such as stationery, non-native fruit, and tools such as a bug net, fishing rod, or a watering can, from Isabelle! Just ask her for advice.

The first time you ask Isabelle for advice, she will give you some stationery and recommend that you send a letter. The next time you ask Isabelle for advice, she will say that she can explain more about letters, or give you some new advice.

If you ask for new advice, she will talk about wanting to go to the beach and look for seashells with you. After this, you should go get a seashell from the beach and bring it to Isabelle. She'll give you a basket of non-native fruits in return.

Her next advice depends on whether you're carrying a shovel or not. Isabelle will explain how to plant trees.

If you ask her for more advice, you can tell her whether you are interested in fishing or bug catching. If you say fishing, she will ask you to catch three different types of fish and then show her your encyclopedia. If you say bug catching, she will ask you to catch three different types of bugs and then show her your encyclopedia.

Talk to her again if you don't have fishing rod or bug net and she will sell you one at the standard price of 500 bells.

Once you have caught 3 different types of bugs or 3 different types of fish, go back and show Isabelle. She won't have any more advice for you after that, so she will give you a watering can as a welcoming gift. After that, she'll tell you to take it easy for the rest of the day.

Visiting Other Towns...

Before you can visit other towns, you have to take a photo for your Town Pass Card. Just go to the photo booth and take a picture. After that, you can visit other towns or invite other players over by going to the train station.

Earning Mayor Points - Your Approval Rating

On the day after you become the mayor, Isabelle will ask you to perform various duties around town to increase your approval rating. On the day after you create your town, you can find out your rating by sitting in your mayor chair. After reaching a 100% approval rating, you unlock the ability to create public works projects and pass ordinances.

How to increase your Approval Rating and Earn Mayor Points
As the mayor, you can reach your 100% approval rating from Isabelle in the following ways:

Change the town tune = 3 points (one time only)
Put something up for sale at Re-tail = 3 points (one time only)
Change the town flag = 3 points (one time only)
Post something on the bulletin board next to the station = 3 points (one time only)
Donate a fish, bug, fossil, or artwork to the museum = 3 points (one time only)
Pull weeds = 1 point each
Water flowers = 1 point per day
Remove trash from the water by fishing = 1 point each
Introduce yourself to all of your villagers = 1 point each
Send a letter = 1 point each
Play each day = up to 3 points each day
What's Next?

After you have reached 100% approval rating and sit in your mayor chair and pay Isabelle, you can build public works projects and pass ordinances. And you can do pretty much whatever you want! Check out the other guides on this site for more information.

How to Grow Flowers...
The following guide explains how to plant seeds and grow flowers in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Flowers might appear spontaneously in your town. You can also buy flower seeds at the Nooklings' shop and Garden Center. You can get a watering can to keep your flowers happy and healthy if they start to wilt.

How to Plant Flowers...

If you have a flower seed bag, you can plant it in your town. Stand on some grass or dirt in your town, then open up your inventory. Tap the bag of flower seeds, then choose Plant. The flower will be planted on the ground where you are standing. You don't need to use a shovel to plant flowers.

How to Move Flowers Around...

You can pick up a flower that has been planted. Stand on or near a flower, then press Y to pick it up and put it in your inventory. Then you can walk to a different location and tap the flower to plant it there. Or, in your inventory screen, you can drag the flower to the ground next to the person in your inventory to plant the flower where you are standing.

Watering Flowers...

If you have a watering can, you can use it to water flowers. Simply stand in front of the flower that you want to water, and use the watering can. A flower that has been watered will sparkle all day long. The sparkles go away at 6AM each day.

How to Get a Watering Can...
Buy a watering can from the Nooklings' shop or the Garden Center. You can also get a free watering can from Isabelle when you start the game. Read the starting the game guide for more information. You can also get a golden and a silver watering can, which can water multiple flowers at a time. Read the golden and silver tools guide for more information.

Wilting Flowers...

Sometimes you might see a brown flower in your town. This is a wilting flower. If you do not water a wilting flower, it will disappear the next day.

Trampling Flowers...

If you run through a flower, you might destroy the flower by trampling it. Be sure not to run near flowers! You can walk on flowers safely with no risk of trampling them.

Hybrid Flowers...

By planting flowers of the same type next to each other (roses next to roses, pansies next to pansies, etc.) you might find new colors of flowers next to them the next day. These unusually colored flowers are called hybrid flowers. Read the hybrids guide for more information.

Hybrid Flowers Guide...
You can grow flowers in your Animal Crossing: New Leaf village. There will be flowers in your town automatically, and new flowers may appear at random. In addition, your villagers might plant new flowers, and you can buy flowers in the garden shop. If you build a police station, you might find flower seeds in the lost and found.

Hybrids...

By placing certain types of flowers and certain colors next to each other, you might have a chance of growing a hybrid flower, which is a flower of a rare color.

How to Grow Hybrids
To make a hybrid flower grow, you have to put two flowers of the same variety (such as two roses, or two cosmos, etc.) next to each other. There is a small chance that a new flower of that type will appear next to them. A new flower can only appear if there are empty spaces next to the pair of flowers. The new flower might be a unique color that can't be purchased in the garden shop and can't randomly appear in your town.

Increase the Likelihood of New Flowers...
The following actions might improve your chance of having new flowers appear:

The orientation of your flowers might have an effect. In previous Animal Crossing games, having the flowers touch diagonally was better, but in other games, having them in straight rows was better.
Water flowers even if they don't need it
Plant large patches of the same type of flower to have multiple flowers next to each other
Bury fertilizer next to the flowers. Fertilizer is available after you upgrade Timmy and Tommy's shop to the Department Store.

In New Leaf, you can improve your town until it is considered to be perfect, also known as "the best town ever!" When you have a perfect town, you may find Jacob's Ladder flowers growing near the cliffs, you may find valuable rare mushrooms buried near tree stumps, and most importantly, you can get the golden watering can if you maintain your perfect status for fifteen days straight!

How to Get a Perfect Town...

You can check the quality of your town by talking to Isabelle at the front desk and asking her about citizen satisfaction. She will read comments from residents. If your town is not yet perfect, she will recommend some ways to improve it. If your town IS currently perfect, it will be described as "the best town ever!"

Build More Public Works Projects
One of the things Isabelle might recommend when you ask about citizen satisifaction is to build more public works projects. This does not include building upgrades like the Museum Shop, Dream Suite, etc. It's based on public works projects that you build outside in your town, such as benches, fountains, the Reset Surveillance Center, street lights, and so on.

However! Certain public works projects actually reduce citizen satisfaction. These include bright lights and screens (e.g. the video screen, the illuminated arch, etc.) or things like the drilling rig, tire toy, or garbage can.

Plant More Flowers...
Having a large number of flowers in your town is very beneficial to citizen satisfaction, so be sure to buy and plant flowers from the garden center often. In New Leaf, you don't need to worry about having certain numbers of flowers per acre. It's just based on total number of flowers.

Also, if you plant the same type of flower next to each other (roses with roses, pansies with pansies, etc.) this can cause new flowers of the same type to grow nearby, and may cause hybrid flowers to grow.

In addition, if you have flowers of the same type in a group, your villagers might plant new flowers of the same type nearby, which helps increase your flower count more quickly.

Be sure to water your flowers. Wilting flowers don't contribute to your flower count. If you enact the beautiful town ordinance, you flowers almost never wilt. Note that if it rains in your town, it waters all of the flowers in your town that day.

Plant More Trees...
If you don't have enough trees (regular trees, fruit trees, leafless trees, fully grown bamboo, palm trees, and possibly tree stumps) in your town, you can't have a perfect town, but if you have too many trees, this might decrease your citizen satisfaction. Isabelle's comments can help you figure this out. In New Leaf, you don't need to worry about having certain numbers of trees per acre. It's just based on total number of trees.

Keep it Clean...
Citizen satisfaction is reduced if you have weeds or items on the ground, so be sure to pull weeds and remove litter from the ground. Things that DON'T count as litter are normal fruits, seashells, flowers, mushrooms, buried gyroids, buried unassessed fossils, and buried pitfall seeds. Almost everything else on the ground or buried underground is considered litter.

Get Villagers to Move In...
You can have up to ten villagers living in your town at a time. If you have fewer than ten, this can reduce citizen satisfaction.

Perfect Town Rewards...

When you have a perfect town, you can get special items and public works projects.

New Public Works Projects...
The first time your town achieves "best town ever" status, Isabelle will add the Flower Clock and some Town Hall renovations to the list of public works projects. The Flower Clock improves citizen satisfaction a lot, so I strongly recommend that you build it!

Jacob's Ladder Flowers...
If your town has perfect status, you may find white flowers at the tops of your cliffs with three bell-shaped blooms. These flowers are called Jacob's Ladders, and they only appear in your town if it has perfect status. However, Jacob's Ladders don't disappear if you lose your perfect town status, so it's possible to have Jacob's Ladders in your town even if you don't have a perfect town.

Rare Mushrooms...
If you have tree stumps in your town, and your town currently has perfect status, you may find a rare mushroom buried near a tree stump in your town. This mushroom is quite valuable and only appears if your town has perfect status.

Golden Watering Can...
If you maintain your perfect town status for 15 days straight, Isabelle will give you the Golden Watering can on the fifteenth day when you ask her about citizen satisfaction. The golden watering can allows you to water nine flowers at a time. Read the golden and silver tools page for more information about the golden watering can.

How to Get All of the Fruits...
There are five fruits that can be native to a town, six fruits that can be found on the island, and one that can be bought from the department store. This page explains how to get all of the fruits.

Town Native Fruits...

Whenever a player creates an Animal Crossing: New Leaf town, one of the following five fruits is selected as the "native fruit" of that town. The native fruit is the type of fruit that is on the town's trees when the player first moves in.

Apples
Cherries
Oranges
Peaches
Pears
How to Get Non-Native Fruits...

If you want to get any of the other four types of fruits that are not native to your town, you can do so in the following ways:

Ask Isabelle for Advice...
Before you get a 100% approval rating, you can ask Isabelle for advice. Do the things that she mentions. When she talks about going to the beach to get seashells, bring her a seashell and she will give you a basket of non-native fruit.

Make Friends with Villagers...
If your friendship with a villager is at a high level, the villager might give you some fruit, and if you are lucky, it will be a type of fruit that you don't have. You might also get fruit in the mail from villagers that you are friends with.

Trade with Other Players...
Another way to get fruits is to exchange friend codes with other players and trade fruits with them.

Island Fruits...

The following six types of fruits can be found on the island.

Banana
Coconut
Durian
Lemon
Lychee
Mango
How to Get Island Fruits...

Before you can get island fruits, you have to unlock access to the island. Read the going to the island guide to learn how to do that.

Get Fruits from the First Island...
When you go to the island, you start in a wooden building where you can buy souvenirs, go on tours, sell things, and check the ATM. Go through the south exit of this building to find a small island. There should be either banana trees or coconut trees on the sand, and trees with one of the other types of island fruits on the grass in the middle.

Take Fruit During Tours...
In the wooden building where you first arrive on the island, speak to Leilani, who is standing behind the counter. She will tell you a list of the tours that you can go on today. To learn more about island tours, check out the Island Tours page.

Some tours require you to give Tortimer some fruit. If you are on a tour where this is NOT the case (a tour where gathering fruit is NOT the objective), then you can keep any fruit that you take from the trees during the tour. It will be in your inventory when you are done with the tour. The fruit on the trees during a tour is random, so just go on many tours until you have collected the types of fruit that you don't have. Send these back to your town using the box next to Leilani's counter.

Perfect Fruit Guide...
Your native fruit trees may sometimes grow a 'perfect fruit'. This fruit looks different from the others and is worth more. You can plant a perfect fruit to create a perfect fruit tree, but this tree will die after a few harvests. Perfect fruits sell for a higher price in a town where the fruits are not native, making them an excellent way to earn more bells. This page explains the details of perfect fruits.

Which is my Native Fruit?

Your native fruit is whichever fruit was growing on your trees when you first created your town. If you don't remember, try selling an apple, pear, peach, orange, and cherry in your town. Whichever one sells for the lowest price is your native fruit.

Making Perfect Fruit Grow on your Trees...

In your town, perfect fruits can only grow on trees of your native fruit type. Therefore, you should plant a lot of native fruit trees and harvest them regularly. If you are lucky, one of them will have a perfect fruit on it. The perfect fruit will look different from the others. Perfect apples have speckles, perfect oranges have a bump on top, perfect peaches and perfect pears are golden in color, and perfect cherries are golden on the bottom.

Please note that only apples, pears, peaches, cherries, and oranges can be perfect. You CAN'T have perfect lemons, perfect persimmons, perfect durians, perfect lychees, perfect coconuts, or perfect bananas.

Planting Perfect Fruits...

If you plant a perfect fruit in a town where it's the native fruit type, the resulting tree will have only perfect fruits on it. However, if you plant a perfect fruit in a town where it is NOT native (e.g. plant a perfect peach in a town where oranges are native), it will NOT create a perfect fruit tree. Instead, it turns into a normal fruit tree.

Perfect fruit trees take three days to grow to full size, just like regular trees.

Harvesting Perfect Fruits...

You can shake perfect fruit trees to harvest the fruits as usual. However, after you harvest the perfect fruits several times, the tree will die, and one of the fruits will be rotten.

Warning! Be careful not to try selling the rotten fruit! If you try selling a rotten fruit, not only will Reese make you pay her to dispose of it, but she won't give you any money for anything else you sell at the same time! Try to find a trash can furniture item for your house so you can simply throw the rotten fruit away.

After a perfect fruit tree dies, it won't produce fruit anymore. You will need to chop it down and plant a new perfect fruit to make a new perfect fruit tree grow. Each tree gives at least four harvests and at most seven before it dies.

Important! Be sure to save some perfect fruits so you don't run out of them when the perfect fruit trees die! I recommend planting a new perfect fruit tree as soon as an old perfect fruit tree dies.

Making a Lot of Bells with Perfect Fruits...

Your native perfect fruits are pretty valuable in your own town (worth 600 bells), but they are five times more valuable in towns where it's not the native type of fruit (3000 bells). Therefore, to make a lot of bells from perfect fruits, take them to a town where they are not the native type of fruit and sell them there.

Before you leave the island, be sure to put any fruits and items that you want to take home in the box to the right of Leilani, who is standing behind the counter in the island hut. When you go back to your town, the basket on the dock will have the items that you put in the island box

Going to the Island...
This page explains how to go to the island resort. Tortimer will tell you about it, then Kapp'n can take you there.

Step 1: Upgrade to a House...

When you first start the game, you live in a tent. Pay off your loan to upgrade to a house. Next, you have to talk to Tom Nook to get your next home loan, then pay it off with the ABD machine in the post office. You have to pay off this first house loan before you can go to the island resort.

Step 2: Talk to Tortimer...

After you pay off the loan mentioned in the previous step, the next time you play, Isabelle will introduce Tortimer at the start-up screen. After this, go down to the dock on your beach to find Tortimer standing there. Talk to him and he'll tell you about the island. Note! If you forget to talk to Tortimer, just pay off another house loan to make him show up again.

Step 3: Wait a Day...

After you talk to Tortimer on your dock, you have to wait until the next day. Then, go to the dock again. Kapp'n will be there in a boat.

Step 4: Pay Kapp'n to Take You to the Island

To go to the island resort, pay Kapp'n 1000 bells. Then you will hop into the boat and he will take you to the island.

You Can Skip the Song

If you don't feel like waiting through Kapp'n's sea shanty that he sings on the way to (and from) the island, press the B button repeatedly until he stops.

Things to do on the Island...

When you are on the island, you can go on tours, collect fruit, and catch bugs and fish that might not be available in your village. Leila, the little girl Kappa, will buy things from you at 5% of their Re-Tail selling price. You can win medals by going on tours, then use the medals to buy things from Grams's souvenir shop. Sometimes she sells a membership to Club Tortimer, which allows you to go to the island with a random player over the Internet.

Sending Things Home with the Box...
To send things back to your town from the Island, open the box to the right of Leilani's counter (near the top left). Anything that you put in the box is sent to the basket on the dock in your village. Note! If you have anything in your pockets when you leave (except tools borrowed from Lloid), they will automatically be sold to Leila (at 5% of their value).

Shop Unlock Guide...
When you first move into your village, there will only be a few shops open. You can upgrade and add some new shops if you know how to unlock them.

Item Shop...

You can upgrade the item shop so it sells more items. You do so by spending bells at the item shop and doing a few other things. Only items that can be sold out count toward your total. In other words, stationery, wrapping paper, and melody cards don't count toward the bell total. Fortune cookies are counted as 500 bells.

Upgrade to the Convenience Store (T&T Mart)...
To upgrade to the convenience store (T&T Mart), you must have a house rather than a tent. Upgrade from the tent by giving 10,000 bells to Tom Nook. The convenience store upgrade occurs after 12,000 bells have been spent in the shop (all players on the game card can contribute) or you have bought at least 15 items. It must be at least 10 days since you created the town.

Upgrade to the Supermarket (Super T&T)
The supermarket is called Super T&T. The supermarket upgrade occurs after you have spent 25,000 bells in the shop. It must be at least 10 days since the convenience store opened. It must be at least 10 days since the garden center opened.

Upgrade to the Home Center (T.I.Y)...
The upgrade to the home center (T.I.Y) occurs after you have spent 50,000 bells in the shop. It must be at least 21 days since you built the supermarket.

Upgrade to the Department Store (T&T Emporium)...
The upgrade to the department store (T&T Emporium) occurs after you have spent 100,000 bells in the shop. It must be at least 30 days since you built the home center. You also have to pass Gracie's fashion check at least four times before the emporium will open.

Garden Center...

To unlock the garden center, the total number of times you have done any of the following actions must be at least 30: pulled weeds, watered flowers, planted trees or flowers. If you don't have a watering can and haven't earned 100% approval rating (see the starting the game guide for information about increasing your approval rating), talk to Isabelle at her front desk in the town hall and ask for advice. If you do all of the things she asks, she will eventually give you a watering can. You can also get a fishing rod or bug net if you keep asking her for advice.

Nook's Homes...

Nook's Homes is open from the beginning. Once you pay off your down payment and get a house instead of a tent, Nook's Homes will start selling exteriors, such as new roofs, mailboxes, and so on.

Happy Home Academy...

After you pay off your first home loan using the ABD in the post office, talk to Tom Nook. Then exit Nook's Homes and go back in. Tom Nook will introduce Lyle, who will give you advice about increasing your HHA score.

Happy Home Showcase...

If you're still living in a tent, pay off your down payment by giving 10,000 bells to Tom Nook. Then use the ABD in the post office to pay off your first house loan. Be sure to talk to Tom Nook after that. The Happy Home Showcase will open the next day.

Museum Shop...

Donate at least 20 items to the museum, with at least one from each category (bugs, fish/deep sea fish, fossils, works of art). Then talk to Blathers each day. One day, he will be thinking about something. Talk to him and he will talk about the museum shop. After that, the museum shop will be added to the list of things you can build in your town. Just sit in your mayor chair and ask to build something, then choose the museum shop.

QR Codes...

In the Able Sisters' shop, you can unlock a QR code machine that creates a QR code that represents a custom design. Other players can then scan this code to get your custom designs into their games. To unlock this, talk to Sable, who is working at the sewing machine. You have to talk to her each day for several days in a row. Then the QR code machine will be unlocked.

Club LOL...

For Club LOL to open, your shop has to be upgraded to the convenience store, and you have to have reached 100% approval rating according to Isabelle (see the starting the game guide for information about increasing your approval rating). Then the next day that you play, Dr. Shrunk will be outside of your house and will ask you to get signatures for his petition. Agree to do so, then talk to six of your villagers and ask them to sign the petition. Once you have six signatures, go talk to Dr. Shrunk in Main Street to give him the petition. The next day, Club LOL will open.

Kicks...

Spend at least 8000 bells in the Able Sisters' shop to unlock the shoe store, Kicks. It must be at least ten days since the town was created.

Shampoodle...

Spend at least 10,000 bells in Able Sisters' or Kicks. It must be at least 10 days since Kicks was built.

Fortune Teller Shop...

Katrina is the fortune-telling cat who sometimes shows up in your town square. To unlock the fortune teller shop, Katrina needs to tell a total of 20 fortunes while in your town. You can have friends come over and have their fortunes told to increase the number of times she has told a fortune while in your town. After she has told 20 fortunes while in your town, the mayor of the town has to talk to her. When this happens, the fortune teller shop will be added to the list of things you can build in your town. Just sit in your mayor chair and ask to build something, then choose the fortune teller shop. Lloid, the fundraising gyroid, will be in the train station to collect donations for the fortune teller shop.

Dream Suite...

The Dream Suite is a place where you can visit dream versions of towns, where you can do whatever you want without affecting the real town. After you been mayor for seven days, go to the town hall. If Isabelle is sleeping, talk to her. This unlocks the Dream Suite in the list of public works that you can build.

The Roost Café...

Donate at least 50 items to the museum, and open the museum shop (see above). After the museum shop has been open seven days, talk to Blathers. He will eventually be thinking about something when you go into the museum. Talk to him at that time to add the Roost Café to the list of community projects.

Easy Bell Making Guide...
There are various ways to earn bells in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. This page lists the easiest ways to make a lot of bells in a short amount of time.

How to Make Easy Bells...

The following sections describe easy ways to make a lot of money in Animal Crossing: New Leaf.

Find Friends to Play With Online...
If you want to make a lot of bells, it helps a lot to be able to visit other players' towns, so be sure to make a lot of friends! The next two sections explain some of the benefits of visiting other players' towns.

Sell Perfect Fruits in Other Players' Towns...
Your native fruits trees might grow a perfect fruit, which is worth a lot in your town, and worth even more in a town where it's not the native fruit. If you plant a lot of perfect fruits in your town, you can sell them in another player's town to make a lot of bells. Read the perfect fruit guide for full details.

Play the Stalk Market...
If you save up a lot of bells, you can buy a lot of turnips from Joan on Sunday morning. Then you can check with Reese about the Stalk Market prices throughout the week. If you're lucky, you can sell the turnips for a huge profit! If you can visit other players' towns, you might be able to make an even better profit if you sell your turnips there. Read the Stalk Market guide for full details.

Fish and Catch Bugs on the Island...
If you visit the resort island after 7PM, you will find a lot of very valuable bugs and fish! Catch them and put them into the box next to Leilani's counter to send them back to your village and sell them to Reese. You can make over 100,000 bells per trip!

Dig Up Fossils...
Every day you can find four fossils in the ground. Just look for cracks in the ground and dig them up with a shovel. Take the fossils to Blathers so he can identify them. Donate them to the museum. Eventually, you will start finding a lot of fossils that you already have in your museum, so you can just sell them. Some of them are very valuable!

Find the Money Rock...
There are rocks in your town. Each day, one of the rocks will have bells hidden in it! This is known as the bell rock. To get the bells to come out, just hit the rock with your shovel. When you hit the rock for the the first time and make some bells come out, a time limit begins. If you keep hitting the rock within the time limit, more bells will come out. You can make up to eight groups of bells pop out of the bell rock. To increase your chances of getting all the bells, dig three holes behind you to keep you from bouncing away from the rock each time you hit it. Also, make sure that all eight of the spaces on the ground around the rock are empty (no holes, no flowers, etc.) because if a space around the rock is occupied, fewere groups of bells will come out of the rock. If you have good timing, you can get all eight groups of bells to come out of the rock. If your money luck for the day is good, you could even make 32000 bells from the money rock!

Find the "Fake" Rock to get Ore...
Each day, there will be one "fake" rock in your town that wasn't there before. Hit it with your shovel to break it. It turns into a piece of ore. There are several types of ore, including gold, silver, ruby, emerald, sapphire, and amethyst. You can sell these in Re-Tail for extra bells, or you can save them and use them to make custom furniture.

Check the "High Price Item" at Re-Tail...
Every day, the Re-Tail shop chooses an item or a type of item that Reese will pay double for each day. Just read the sign next to the door of Re-Tail to find out what the high price item is for the day. The high price item might be a specific item (for example: sharks) or it might be a type of item (for example: hats). Sell these types of items to Reese that day and you will get twice as many bells for them as usual. TIP! Keep valuable items in your storage, such as thrones and crowns, then wait for them to become a high price item at Re-Tail and make lots of bells!

Shake Trees...
Every day, some of your trees will have 100 bells hidden in them. Two of your trees will have furniture hidden in them. Five of your trees will have beehives hidden in them. Shake all of your trees to find these things. You can put the bells in your wallet, sell the furniture, and sell the bees and beehives for extra bells. If you don't want to deal with bees, just open your gate. Bees can't come out of your trees while your gate is open!

Shoot Down Balloon Presents...
Every day at XX:X4 o'clock, a balloon present might float over your town. Buy a slingshot from the Nooklings' store, then use it to pop the balloon. Open the present to find a piece of balloon furniture. You can sell these to Reese for extra bells.

Buy Fortune Cookies...
The Nooklings' shop sells fortune cookies. You can buy these if your 3DS has Play Coins. To earn Play Coins, save and quit your game, then go to the 3DS home screen, and close the 3DS and walk around while carrying the 3DS in a bag or in your pocket. You can earn up to 10 Play Coins per day. Buy fortune cookies from the Nooklings' shop, eat them, and give the paper to Timmy or Tommy. You will get an item in return. You can sell these items and get bells simply for walking around! For more information about Play Coins, check out my Play Coins guide.

Build a Police Station and Sell Items from the Lost and Found...
The police station is a public works project. After you build one, you can take items from the lost and found. Sell them to Reese for extra bells!

Improve your Feng Shui...
In Animal Crossing, Feng Shui is the art of arranging your furniture in ways that increase your luck. To do this in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, you have to put specific colors of furniture in specific areas of your house. If you have a lot of yellow and green items in the correct places, you increase your money luck. You can find more bells, villagers will pay you more and charge you less for items, and so on.

Wear Katrina's Good Luck Item...
Katrina is a fortune teller who might visit your town up to one day a week (Monday through Saturday). After you get 20 fortunes from her, you can build a fortune teller shop for her in Main Street. If she is in your plaza, or if you have built the fortune teller shop for her, talk to her to get your fortune told. She will tell you about a "good luck item" that you can wear during the day to improve your luck. The good luck item is a type of clothing item, such as glasses, or men's accessories for example. If you wear it, your luck will be improved until 11PM. By improving your luck, you might get more money from trees, more money from the bell rock, and so on. Read the Katrina guide to learn about the different types of luck in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, including money luck.

I would sticky this if it wasn't that old.. It's a good guide, but hardly anyone plays ACNL anymore.
