Yep, Sony drones and Micro-fans, you guys have read right. Wii U is currently at the top of the list of consoles (excluding the 3DS X/LL) sold recently this week in Japan, and that's all thanks to Wii U's exclusive title Pikimin 3.

Here's a list of the sales figures for this week in Japan.

Seeing how Pikimin 3 released just a few days ago, this is definitely good news for Nintendo. Pikimin 3 launches July 26th in Europe and on August 4th for North America.

So Pikmin 3 did well in its opening weekend. no suprise there. Hopefully this a beginning of a big turnaround for the console.

PS Vita has had greater sales spikes, and is still a failing system.

Obviously when a quality game is released in the barren desert that is the Wii U's library people will buy it.

I would also like to point out that 22k for a new system is still pretty bad. When the 3DS was selling 20k a week people said is was failing.

Project X Zone did more than Pikmin 3 its first week and ended up failing in Japan.

In short, one week of somewhat decent sales means very little in the wrong run-especially considering how little competition Nintendo has in Japan, as no one buys the 360 there and no one there will buy the One.

@pikarceus id like to point out that these sales are not for an entire week since Pikmin 3 launched the 13th and these results were taken the 14th. So please just wait till the official opening week results are released till you criticize it.

Please. Have any of you guys seen the recent Nintendo Direct? They list the exclusive titles arriving to the Wii U this year. All of them are no doubt going to be block-buster titles just like Pikimin 3.

And we'll see Wii U sales raise and raise.....
