People at Digital foundry have recently taken a more in depth look in the Wii U. If you want to read the article its here. I wont be going be going in depth just saying that the main point is that the Wii U is more powerful/effeicient than the current genaration consoles (360/ps3).Digital Foundry and Eurogamer had this to say about the power of the Wii U when you compare it to the upcomming Ps4 and Xbox 720

"GCN (Graphics Core Next) hardware in Durango (Microsoft) and Orbis (Sony) is in a completely different league"

This is of course based on the info they now so far.

"However, the 16 TMUs at 550MHz and texture cache improvements found in RV770 do elevate the capabilities of this hardware beyond the Xenos GPU in the Xbox 360 - 1.5 times the raw shader power sounds about right. 1080p resolution is around 2.5x that of 720p, so bearing in mind the inclusion of just eight ROPs, it's highly unlikely that we'll be seeing any complex 3D titles running at 1080p."

Read the article, they can't even say for sure that it beats the PS3/360 in all areas.

So...let me get this straight. It's rumored that the PS4 will be supporting 4k resolution, and the Wii U can barely do 1080p?

Disappointing.

i agree. Nintendo promised me 1080p oh well i guess i should have seen it comming since its a tradition they adopted from yokoi

Xbox and ps3 can't do 1080p so Wii U beats there no doubt but still kinda disapointing. Whatever im in it for the games.
