Difference between mysql and SQL

This is a question that has most people confused: What is the difference between MySQL and SQL?
Before you ask no Mysql isn't sql that is mine (or anyones)

Well SQL is a programming language that stands for Structured Query Language.
Like sql commands like insert,select from,delete from,select *,Truncate,Update,Update* and many more are sql.

MySQL on the other hand refers to a DB system,like Phpmyadmin (PMA)
There is also postgresql but I highly recommend PhpMyadmin.

PhpMyAdmin is found on most proper hosts(Not wap sites and sitebuilders).

So I hope I have explained this well,and for it to be useful for you.
