Get MK7, why? Because you get VR and there are communities you can join. KIU has no Level system and only 6 profile per match, if you're doing LVD.

People have made custom Kid Icarus clans. It's not as convenient, but the core game is much more innovative and has far more content so I'd say it's worth it.

They have scales in Light vs. Dark so that people with stronger weapons take more damage.

As for Free-For-All, yeah you best wait till you got a really good weapon or you have confidence in your skills.

What are you talking about? It is randomized, but there's several courses. Kid Icarus actually has good single player as well. MK7 omits several features from former versions for no reasons, has several glitches and way too much AI rubberbanding. It's still a good investment for any racer fan, but even as a person who's not a fan of shooters Kid Icarus blows every other 3DS game released out of the water.
