I don't really know; DC has Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, Zatanna, Raven, and Starfire while Marvel has Spiderman, Captain America, Ghost Rider, and Daredevil. Both make great villains, too. And they're both hit-and-miss when it comes to films. I have an approximately equal respect for both of them. Although, for the record, my favourite superhero is Batman, favourite villain is the Scarecrow, and my favourite superhero film is pretty much a tie between Batman Forever and The Dark Knight. :l
