A lot of you don't fully understand what these are, so I'll explain.

Remake
Taking a game that was already made, and significantly improving or adding on to various areas of the game whether it be graphics, sound, interface, or content.

Some examples: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, Star Fox 64 3D, Cave Story 3D.

Multi-platform
A game that is released on multiple systems at once, within a short time.

Some examples: The Amazing Spider-Man, Call of Duty, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, Mass Effect 360(360/PS3/PC versions), Batman: Arkham Asylum.

Port
A game that has been already made, that is sent to another platform mostly unchanged, awhile after the original release.

Some examples: Rayman 3D, Batman: Arkham City(Wii U), Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell 3D, Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition.

Sequel
A continuation of an already existing series, often, but not always, numbered.

Some examples: Conduit 2, New Super Mario Bros. 2, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Mario Kart 7.

New IP
Something new, the start of an all new series or game. All games were ORIGINALLY a New IP, until they had sequels.

Some examples: Pushmo, Steel Diver, The Last of Us, Watch Dogs.

Spin-off
A game that is part of an existing series, but the game is much different from the main series's formula, and often has striking differences in graphics, gameplay, and other aspects of the game. Warning! A sequel with tremendous differences from the games before it does not make it a spin-off! You will usually notice a spin-off when you see it.

Some examples: Pokemon Rumble Blast, Theatrhythm Final Fantasy, Dead or Alive Xtreme.

There are ports of CaveStory, such as the Wiiware and DSiware versions. Cave Story 3D is a remake, the game is significantly changed.

Rehash isn't a "real" term. Rehash simply means a game that reuses ****loads of content from the past game(s) to the point of being unpleasant. Nintendude doesn't understand it.

Nintendude, just because it isn't the exact same game, does not mean it is new. You are fawning over the smallest bits of new content, a sequel should have TONS of new things, not a few.
