There was a system transfer app on the DSi and 3DS so you could transfer games from the DSi/ photos/sounds to your 3DS.

Nintendo said something about this. It will be in the form of an app or some kind of wireless transfer update to the system firmware like the 3DS, but at this point nintendo won't tell us until the WiiU is closer to release date.
