Ok, so I noticed a lot of spam lately, and I'm sorry if I seem to be copying SynTM, but really, that's kinda half-true and half-false.


Suggestion to reduce spam and pr0n (if you don't know what that means, DON'T look it up or ask) spammers:

-> users can only post 5 times a day until they have had 10 posts approved by a forum moderator
(like on Minecraft Forums)

-> forum mods have a page where they are asked to approve/disapprove of posts

-> a limit to your posts/hour

-> any further posts after a previous post will NOT count a postcount, and be appended after the last message. (also like on Minecraft Forums)

-> add a spam flagging system so spam can be removed by a number of users voting, and possibly barring the user from the forums/site (?)

-> every spam message will add, say 2, more posts to be approved.


-> there will be a trusted rank that will allow unlimited posts/hour (all mods will have this rank by default) (pointed out by SynTM)


Example from a spammers view:

Hey, my name is SomeSpammer, and I'm here to advertise for something.com!

The easiest way to do this will be to flood the forums with a link, right? Correct!

So, how about we get started?

...
Hang on, I'm spamming...
...
...

What? I can only send 5 messages per day until I get 10 approved posts?


*** The next day ***


Ok, those messages better be damn approved!

What's that? My posts are flagged for spam? Darn it! Wait a sec, I now need 20 approved posts until I lift the restriction -.-?
!



Aha! How about I get myself approved? Great idea!

Eh, what now?????

Limit to my posts per hour? Seriously, leave me alone to spam -.-!

What now? I'm banned from the forums because my posts were flagged for spam? ...
