There is a pokemon rater in every pokemon game.

In X/Y, it's the man in Kiloude city's pokemon center. Take your pokemon there and google what the man tells you.

If he says "it can't be beat" about any stat, in this case 5, it means the IV for those stats is 31.

I don't like the idea of Salamence and Metagross' megalutions being version exclusives. I'd hate to have to choose between the two, but ultimately I would decide on Metagross. I have a perfect IV Aegislash that I can use to breed a perfect beldum, plus, Salamence is not as powerful as it once was.
Neither is Metagross, but I just prefer the steel type right now since it's not weak against fairies.

Metagross and Salamence DO NOT deserve mega evolutions. Just because Metagross got a couple of new weaknesses does not mean it needs a mega evolution. Under that logic, Zekrom needs one.

I don't like how people whine about whether certain pokemon "deserve" a mega evo.

They act as if the entire concept of mega ecolution is to make weak pokemon strong. It'd make a lot more sense to make a strong pokemon stronger, that way you're actually getting your money's worth out of the mega evolution. If a pokemon is alreay strong, people shouldn't be mad if it receives a mega evolution because what it comes down to is popularity.
No one wants stupid weak pokemon, like Plusle and Minun, to receive mega evolutions.

Zoroark (eh, mainly because Lucario and Mewtwo got one)
Scrafty (a Pokemon that was actually horribly nerfed, Metagross was minorly nerfed like Zekrom)

Seviper
Kabutops
Omastar
Sandslash
Milotic
Sharpedo

Pikachu doesn't have a mega evolution , Raichu is a regular evolution.

NightmareMoon- The fourth generation of pokemon introduced new evolutions for old pokemon, thus making them a lot stronger than they used to be.

Examples of these are Magmortar, Gliscor, Electivire, Dusknoir, and Mismagius.

These pokemons' final evolutions are similar to megas, except they're permanent. I know Raichu isn't 4th gen, but it's basically Pikachu's mega.
