One of the reasons the Wii was so successful when it first launched was because Twilight Princess released the same day.

Well, Twilight Princess came out on the Wii before the GameCube, so many Zelda-fans would buy a Wii just to get their hands on the new game as soon as possible.

Ah, well, technically the GameCube version was the original version. Nintendo was making the game a GameCube exclusive, until later they decided they should make it for the Wii aswell to promote the new console. But, since not everybody's made out of money, and because they already were close to finishing the GameCube game, they decided to make the game for both consoles.

The only real difference between the two versions is that everything is flipped.
