Oh my gosh, please don't get me started on Fire Emblem Fates. It’s not even out yet and I can write a novel of the mistakes they've made with it. It's almost as much of a slap in the face to Fire Emblem as Wind Wanker was to Zelda, or Federation Force will be to Metroid. Almost.

Not to derail, but...

Wind Waker is a FANTASTIC game. Just because it's not hyperrealistic doesn't make it bad. Then again, this is coming from the same person who says Brawl is broken.


Fates is actually terrible. They made the gameplay even worse than how Awakening RUINED it and the story makes me want to talk positively about Awakening.

I don't feel like this is the place to discuss what differing opinions are, but to share a few problems I had with Wind Waker...
*Bad story
*Horrible (or at least extremely awkward) sailing mechanics
*Uninteresting characters, settings, and scenarios
*The music? Nah, bro...
*Creepy pedo Tingle
*Empty ocean that serves as the overworld
*Fat Ganondorf
Terrible graphics are only the tip of the iceberg of problems WW has.

And Brawl, having tripping, slipping, floaty and ungrounded physics, and the one-hit kill that is the Smash Ball, is not broken, how?

They casualised Fire Emblem, that's all I can really say. They took the focus away from its fans in an attempt to broaden its audience (which worked with Awakening, as most changes were optional; it's actually my second favourite in the franchise right now), and now have totally sold themselves out. But thankfully, we can still play Sacred Stones and the other classics.

@Crush-I always hear fans complaining about Awakening, but in an interview they stated that Awakening was originally planned to be the last Fire Emblem because sales were that sucky. As we know, Awakening sold buckets, so we can't really blame them for going with what works. Honestly we're going to keeep getting these Fire Emblem games or nothing at all, because the "true fans" weren't really making them enough money.

I don't know a whole lot about Fates-sure some of the stuff they threw in there is a bit creepy but I'm pretty open minded. To me, it's only truly causlized once 12 year old boys start liking it, and my 12 year old cousin wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole, he'd still be playing ass creed and Destiny.
