There could be two reasons of why so.
1. Time. They probably needed to condense the view time for when it plays on-air. Thing is that this still isn't used on DVD (in the movie anyway) and it can be very likely to do with reason 2. The story would have to stay the same, of course.
2. Someone pointed this out and it does make perfect sense. If this were to happen, there would need to be some sort of explanation of why Sunset was involved and that would mean adding more things in the story that don't need to be there and it can cause a whole load of confusion. And as we all know, confusing the younger viewers would be a bad thing.
