Drake. Go through the list of old members. Promote each one, and see how they do for a week. Then demote them. At the end of the trials, pick who should and shouldn't be promoted again, permanently. This is the best way of seeing who can and can't moderate well.

I can't say whether Carlos' further use of the D3000 is necessarily abuse or not, it's still a bit of a grey area in my opinion. All I'm trying to defend now is Carlos' current moderator position. Whatever he does in the future with the D3000 is up to Drake.

In my defense, Drake, I saw what you said as more of a friendly suggestion given that you didn't provide any good reason beyond the obvious fact that people were complaining. What I said of our conversation aligns perfectly, and you didn't give a strong reason because there are none. The thing is, I didn't abuse the D3000. Lani's post above supports this, and my post in response to hers elaborates on what she said and clears up some concerns.

The fact of the matter is, while Carlos has obviously gone to great lengths to price he can't handle the power he has been given, it only further proves that not nipping this in the bud will lead to him making even worse decisions in the future.

How about instead of pointless speculation, we actually give our theories a shot. Demote Carlos, and promote somebody else. Then see if things in the forums are better. You can talk all you want, but until you actually do something, you're just talking. There is virtually no harm that can come from performing a test.

Okay, I'm just going to clear this up.

From here on, DO NOT use the D3000 unless you are clearing spam.

And since apparently I didn't clear the reasoning enough in the PM. here's why;

- I'm honestly annoyed of all this mod drama probably just as much as you are, Carlos.

- As noted before by others, it is not your job to do other moderators' jobs. If it were so, why do we have different mods for each portion of the site? Alert the specified moderator of that said portion of a rule break or whatever the case may be. You just worry about what goes on in the forums.


Aside from the D3000 case, I strongly encourage you to not delete, nor move to another forum, bumped threads. Even if it's during a bump-spam attack. Lock them, then move on.


Whether or not you actually do this, I don't know. I guess you can say I haven't been paying as much attention as a CM ought to be, and I deeply apologize for that, but nonetheless, this goes to all forum moderators.

If you actually do anything as mentioned above once more, it'll likely lead you into demotion.

Recently, of course not. My point being that Carlos is never satisfied with the status quo. If he would just stick to moderating the forums like everybody else, all would be right with the world.

But when he gets crap for making up rules, he goes to deleting threads for his own opinions. When he gets told not to do that, he goes to ban chat offenders with the D3000. When he gets told not to that, he goes to ______. Its only a matter of time before he does something equally as extreme.

He may not be trying to make everybody miserable, but his sense of responsibility is so lacking that if he believes the sky is purple, he will not accept the clear fact that it is blue until somebody holds a gun to his head. In the case the gun is demotion.
