Yes, they can, but it's not like new users would have the knowledge of making alts (if they do not know about proxies).

Ignoring spam is simple science too.

About dying, if registration is disabled no new users can join meaning the community will die off as people get bored with few people. And if it is enabled, the site needs a little advertising. Doing minimal stuff can help getting new members.

I'm pretty sure everybody wants to be the "last" person here, so not many will leave that soon. Also, why the hell would the common redditor want to spend his or her freetine on this website? They would think this place is boring, even if they did like nintendo.

Also, I'm pretty sure the community is dying is because the community is very bad. Unlike other sites, nobody can have different topics to talk about. Because all we do is the exact same every day: Smash Bros, Mario Kart 8, Shrek, Smash, Five Nights at Freddy's, SMASH, SMASH, SMASH, MK8, MORE SMASH, and stupid life situations.

Can we spice it up a bit? You know, like DIFFERENT TOPICS TO TALK ABOUT OTHER THAN SMASH?

^ Since I'm on the forums for the most part and never in the chatrooms, I'm just gonna guess that the chats for the most part actively discusses those subjects. Unlike the forums, the chats have the only repeating subjets day by day. ( My guess since that's what lots have said on the Forums )

It's 50% the chatters's fault for having Sm4sh fever, and the other half.. Uhh, nevermind dat.

When Registration was first enabled, the community was a success. Just until the troublesome users arrived, those are the specific users that have been driving away users. Well, some. It's 50% this community's fault, 30% the spammer's fault, and the other 20% just goes to Rob. That's my belief. If we really need to expand ( which looks as if we should ), let's first change our attitudes. Let's make the newer users feel like "home".

I created a community of my own, because this community is slowly dying, and nobody can save it. The website is, to it's core, a branch of 4chan, filled with assholes. Nobody can change that, and if anything can, it damn sure won't be the damn thread.

This community has no active administration, no encouragement, no good qualities whatsoever. The only decency in this website is that you can find intelligent conversation in those such as Kishy, Carlos, Myself, Corban, etc.

The members that used to be accepting either quit, got banned, or turned into an ass. (Mega)

This website is run by an eighteen year old with no time to run it. So it is slowly dying, and will slowly die, and stay dead, until a cosmic alignment brings all of us back here to revisit the good-old-days all at once, and start the community back up again. But guess what, guys? This community has about five years, tops, before a new console comes out, and renders the 3ds obsolete because nobody gives a crap about it anymore. Just like the first DS. Just like the DSi. Just like the regular Wii. Just like all the consoles that are wiped out by the next generation of new crap. No amount of threads to show your (obviously fake) concern will bring ten million users in, and halt construction of the next generation of consoles.

Here are my suggestions.

1. Make your own community.

Everybody loves a new place. If you can get enough of your friends to populate forums, chats, etc. to make the place seem filled, then bam. You got people coming in like crazy.

2. Join another community.

Ween yourself off 3dsoplaza with a decent community that has way more to offer, and will actually listen to you, and improve the website. Such as, www.gaiaonline.com, www.scribblehub.com, www.minecraftforums.com, etc. etc.

3. Piss off.

Get a life. Make something of yourself. Create a web project. Learn a programming language. Get a job. Make youtube videos. Productivity.




Like I said. No amount of whining or crying is going to make the sky fall and a million users come raining down. If it's over, It's over. And keep in mind, it will be over damn soon.

Nintendo's newest handheld: the 2DS.
Yes, sure a 3DS based community will die because of a new handheld that has exactly the same software and hardware!
I already said it: The 3DS will stay hot as a handheld. Heck, it probably hasn't reached its peak yet with new games coming out such as OR/AS and SSB4.

Here are my suggestions.

1. Convinve Rob why registration should be enabled again.

If you are going to try to convince him to enable it again, you'll need a reason and not whine.

2. Change attitude and take off your nostalgia glasses.

Yes, a lot of people aren't welcoming, but that is not the end of the world. Every good community has some people who are douches. But a community doesn't have to consist out of the same people. We need new and fresh people, that's the main reason why we should expand and get more members.
Also, about nostalgia glasses - you think this community dies because it's not like is used to be. Not true. You think the community can only be revived by the older users, while new users bring new ideas and keep forums and chats alive.


It's not over.
We just need a little bit of effort, just a tiny bit, to make the community a better place.
Where will people go to if they use their 3DS?
Wapka? SN? HA!
Just the registration enabled, and 3DSPlaza can get improved.

Yes I have credibility. You obviously have no idea how the inner workings of a community-based website works. You can't fix the people themselves. Like I said, Not just a few people are assholes. Only assholes are allowed to join, lest they be shunned by the current assholes.

Therefore, this community will die, and like I said, get the hell over it. Go look at every community that exists for the 3ds. 3dspaint has rarely ever a moderator even get on. This website will be the same. Rob was an absolute idiot for centering this website around the 3ds. Thus giving it a very short lifespan.

This is not only something every community owner knows, but it's also anything you can see by opening your God damn eyes and looking at these people here. I damn sure won't be letting my community turn into this, if it kills me. I guarantee you others in the Community Admin forums would say the same.

What were you hoping to gain from this thread? Did you really expect everybody to jump up and say "BY GEORGE HE'S RIGHT!!!!" and then spring into action, and the entire website will become a beacon of social anonymity for the entire world, and everybody will remember the day that ED made such an amazing post that encouraged the community to give a crap? Be realistic. This thread is completely useless.
