Here's how I think this should work:

When someone posts a story, drawing, etc. but gives credit to the original creator, it won't matter and there will be no penalty.

If someone does the same thing, but does not give credit to the original creator, their thread will be closed and the OP text deleted.

If the same person disobeys the rule again, it will result in a one day ban. The next time it will be a 2-3 day ban.

And every time the same user keeps plagiarizing after serving their ban, their ban extends until they learn a valuable lesson.

However, A loophole in the national plagarism code states that if there is a part of the work altered, or if audio is sped up, or the pitch changed, you can plead innocent by claiming it to be a parody and/or revision. Then it's not technically plagarism.

Alright, so how often does plagiarism actually happen? If it happens often, it might be worth condemning...otherwise, having to provide proof for your artwork is just a bit tedious for something that isn't a huge problem.

Isn't using fake selfies a similar topic? That's arguably identity theft.

In my personal opinion, plagiarism in general is a big enough issue for a rule regarding it to be enforced on this website.

Fake selfies though, I don't think that really harms the original person in any way. Not that many people know about this website so it isn't likely someone will come here, seeing their friends selfie and assume it's them.
