Your prediction isn't likely since it's already been confirmed that Salamance gets boosted defense, so they wouldn't just give it 10 in both defenses.
Also, 30 in speed is overkill. I know he looks fast, but with +30, you move up a lot of speed tiers. If he were to get something more than +20 in speed, I think it would have been mentioned in the description of the mega from the Corocoro leaks.

iceman (2014-08-12 20:36:39)@Carlos First I will admit I did the math wrong when adding up the base stats you said. In contradiction to that I have to say Sp.Attack won't get +20 and Speed will get more than +10.

Its Aerilate Ability also makes Normal-type moves into Flying-type moves, increasing the ways that Mega Salamence can battle." Notice that it mentions Speed, Attack, And Defense. With that said I will admit my idea of Base Stats divided up does seem very unrealistic. Speed will probably get 20 over 30. After looking over the fastest pokemon as of X/Y a +20 would put it even with Sceptile/Alakazam/Arceus and keeps it slower than Greninja, Darkrai, Weavile, and Talonflame. For Defense IDK what approach they take for this on the count he has only base 80 Defense. Far below a stall wall if anything a Bulky attacker/Better Conkeldurr. Sp.Attack and Sp.Def gets ignored in the sense that the pokemon no longer logically can be used as a Sp.Attack with an outstanding Attack after mega.
@Proxy The defense bulk won't matter because Greninja still kills him OHKO with x4 Ice Beam on his lower Sp.Def.
THEN ONTO THE TOPIC OF TRAINER HORDE BATTLES.
How damn fair is that? Really? 5v1. I imagine 5 Mightyenas with 3/5 having intimidate. You would REALLY need multiple hitting moves such as EQ/Blizzard/Rock Slide.

@BirdJesus Kanga is holding its Mega stone. You take advantage of scrappy vs The ghosts before mega evolving. You don't need to mega evolve first turn always. You would be strategically running it like a good VGC player.
