To be blunt.

The ignore option is just to block the user that you wish to ignore by both not seeing eachother in the Chatrooms, Forums or PMs.

Its most likely like making him invisible.

Additional: Also, you could not be able to block a Moderator just to not get banned.

But what if that user that you blocked becomes a moderator, he automatically becomes unblocked?
